Implants planned in three dimensions.
A missing tooth deserves more than a guess. Every implant at MDS Dental is planned on a CBCT scan, so we know the bone, the nerve and the final crown position before treatment starts.
A dental implant is a titanium post placed in the jaw bone that replaces a missing tooth root and supports a crown, bridge or full set of teeth. At MDS Dental in Badlapur, implants are planned on CBCT 3D imaging to measure bone and avoid the nerve and sinus, and range from single-tooth implants to full-mouth fixed teeth.
CBCT 3D imaging
A cone-beam CT scan shows the jaw in thin cross-sections, revealing bone that a normal X-ray cannot.
Bone and nerve mapping
We measure bone height and width and trace the nerve canal, so every millimetre is accounted for.
Virtual implant placement
The implant is positioned on screen at the ideal depth and angle, with a safety margin from vital structures.
Crown-driven result
Planning starts from the final tooth, so the crown sits naturally and the bite is balanced.
CBCT and optical scan, merged.
This is an actual implant plan made at MDS Dental. The optical scan of the teeth (STL file, yellow) is merged with the patient's CBCT scan. The implants and their crowns are then positioned on screen, clear of the nerve canal (blue), before anything is done in the mouth.
- Bone height and width measured in 3D
- Nerve canal traced and kept at a safe distance
- Implant angle set from the final crown position

The plan, printed into a guide.
From the 3D plan we make a surgical guide: a precise splint that sits on the teeth, with a metal sleeve over each implant site. The drill and the implant can only travel along the planned angle and depth, so what was planned on screen is what happens in the mouth.
- 3D model of a real guide designed at MDS Dental
- Sleeves set to the planned angle and depth
- Smaller cuts and a shorter, more predictable surgery

Implant FAQ
Why do you use CBCT before placing an implant?
A 2D X-ray cannot show bone width or the exact path of the nerve. CBCT gives a 3D view, so the implant size, depth and angle can be planned safely and the crown can sit in the ideal position.
How long does a dental implant take?
Typically 3 to 6 months from placement to final crown, while the implant bonds with the bone. In suitable cases a temporary tooth can be fitted sooner.
Is implant surgery painful?
It is done under local anaesthesia. Most patients describe it as easier than an extraction, with mild soreness for a few days.
Can I get fixed teeth if I have no teeth at all?
Yes. A full-mouth implant-supported prosthesis replaces a whole arch with fixed teeth on a small number of implants, planned on CBCT.
Is the implant available immediately or does it need to be ordered?
We will confirm the system and timeline at your planning visit; your treatment plan and costs are shared before anything begins.
